Cider or cider wine is an alcoholic beverage traditionally made from apple juice, in principle without the addition of extra sugar. In fact, more ingredients (except yeast, depending on the choice of the cider maker) are hardly needed to make a good cider. This can be compared to the production of wine made from just grapes, or to wine made from pears.
