Frank Cornelissen needs no introduction.
Born and raised in our hometown Hasselt but in the meantime grew into one of the biggest icons within the natural wine movement.
This rosé is produced with the same philosophy and vinification techniques as all of Frank Cornelissen's other wines: skin contact for texture and territorial identity, malolactic fermentation fully finished for density, fluidity and stability. Not only a refreshing summer wine from a blend of Malvasia, Moscadella, Insolia and Nerello Mascalese, as this is a “rosé” which can also be regarded as a light red, like a “Jura” wine, pairing well with a wide variety of dishes. "Glouglou meets terroir"
'Volcanic rockjuice'.... a wine of biblical proportions. The name Susucaru comes from a Sicilian expression meaning “they stole it” which is what Frank's crew shouted when they realized most of the grapes from their first vintage had vanished.
Cornelissen doesn't only have vineyards on the flanks of "his" volcano, but also olive groves and fruit orchards. If you go for monoculture - exclusively vineyards, for example - you impoverish the environment," he says. Attention : this wine will make you long for summer even more.
