This is a lovely wine! Alice purchased Sylvaner grapes from Domaine René Clauss in the village of Ergersheim in Alsace which is just a few kilometres directly west of the city of Strasbourg. As always, she and her team harvested the grapes and took them back to the Jura in small crates.
This spent two weeks on the skins as whole bunches, followed by eight months in cuve. How Alice manages to coax such beautiful aromas out of Sylvaner we’ll never know but this really impresses with its green citrus, gentle floral notes and incredibly refreshing acidity. A wonderful way to start the day.
